Skin Flap

In label of Health I will write about Skin Flaps
Skin Flaps are used to close wounds with a poor supply of blood vessels, reconstruct facial features, and provide padding over bony prominences (the fact or condition of standing out from something by physically projecting or being particularly noticeable).
A Skin Flap consists of skin and subcutaneous tissue that is moved from one part of the body to another, with a vascular pedicle or attachment to the body being maintained for nourishment.
Nasal reconstruction, following loss of all or part of the nose due to cancer or injury, involves the use of a skin flap from the forehead, cheeks, or upper arm.
The nasal framework may also need to be reconstructed with bone or cartilage grafts. The cheeks and lips can be reconstructed with local flaps of skin or more distant skin flaps from the forehead, upper anterior chest, shoulder, or neck.
